Every year, Legal Island staff come together to choose two charities to support through our 'Rate to Donate' initiative. This process begins with an open nomination, where employees suggest charities that hold personal significance to them—often ones that have supported them, a family member, or a friend in the past year. 

Once all nominations are gathered, a vote is held to select the two final charities: one based in Northern Ireland and one in the Republic of Ireland. For every completed survey following all our events, Legal Island donates £1 or €1 to the chosen charities, helping to make a positive difference in the communities we care about. 

In 2024 the nominated charities are:

For Northern Ireland - Macmillan Cancer Trust - support to people living with cancer and their loved ones.

For the Republic of Ireland: LauraLynn Children's Hospice - for children with life-limiting conditions and residential care for children and young adults with disabilities.
